Dog Groomer Anna Buttitta Joins Missy
In May 2024, dog groomer Anna Buttitta celebrated her one-year anniversary at Grooming By Missy. She has taken a solid position within the staff and is now available for dog grooming appointments.
Anna’s mom was friends with a customer of Grooming By Missy. Anna would sometimes assist with making appointments and dropping off dogs for grooming. At one point, she asked if she could shadow Missy. “Seeing what Missy does was fun, and something I would love to do.”
Owner Melissa Zubricky opened her new Hinckley location in January 2020, and has seen solid growth during the past four years. Her strong relationships with her customers was key during her start-up period, and many past and new customers have been reaching out to contact her.
Anna Enjoys Grooming Work
Anna Buttitta is a life-long Hinckley resident and graduated from Highland High School. She attended classes at both the University of Akron and Cuyahoga Community College.
Her mentorship at GBM began by assisting the team with bathing and brushing in the preparation stage. Anna then developed her craft with scissor cutting, shaving, and overall technical grooming.
“Each dog is different,” said Anna of the demeanor and personality of her customers. She loves all breeds, but enjoys working with dogs with undercoats (Goldens, Huskies, etc). To unwind after a day of grooming, she said she enjoys coloring, reading sci-fi literature and playing video games.
Missy and her team are recognized as one of the top dog groomers in Cleveland. The salon has been named a champion and finalist in The Best Of The Best Pet Groomer in Medina County for three consecutive years. The reader’s choice contest is sponsored by The Gazette.
Melissa Zubricky obtained her formal training at the Medina County Joint Vocational Center, graduating in 1986.
